About The Event

This series is both educational (on the basic principles of D&I including microaggressions, implicit bias, communication, racial identity development, etc) and an opportunity to process one's own identity in relation to our role in D&I and the systems of privilege.

The group grew out of the realization that the three hour corporate D&I workshop I've been leading for years could easily be eight hours if we leaned into the experiential communication piece, and could then easily spin into 15 hours of personal identity development. It also grew out of a desire to build community around D&I.

So I’m starting a processing group to build community and welcome people who are new to this conversation. We will create a space safe for beginners to explore their assumptions, biases, and points of ignorance and provide the tools to safely and effectively engage in conversations around race and identity at work and home.

This is a closed group so the rate is for the entire series. This allows us to build that safety and community to explore the subjects together. Each session will be on a different topic, the agenda is below. If you are unable to make a session, I will very likely be running it again soon and you are welcome to drop-in to the session you missed.

October 3rd -Intro to guidelines, fears, concerns, role & the value of D&I. How this work impacts and benefits folks everyone

October 10th - Implicit Bias & Microaggressions

October 17th - Getting called out and how to apologize, calling out and nonviolent communication

October 24th - Racial identity development, reflection & community

All materials are property of Birdsong Therapy and may not be distributed. However, if you are interested in bringing a corporate version of this workshop to your place of work, I will deduct all fees that your company has paid to sponsor your attendance in this series.
